Ashit Jalui’s grandfather was a very well known astrologer in Kolkata during the British rule in early twentieth century. Astrology was however, not a cup of tea for Ashit’s father and he shunned it turning his attention to the jewelry business.
For Ashit it turned out to be a Hobson’s choice – to go for the age old Shastra of astrology that his grand father devoutly pursued or pick up the thread of his father’s jewelry business. His studies of astrology convinced him that the impact of planetary movements on human life could not be overlooked. He pursued the subject in a more scientific manner and found that the negative impact of ominous planetary movements could be reduced by the judicious use of metals and precious stones in form of rings, bracelets, and bangles.
His peep in his father’s jewelry business helped him experimenting with the use of Panch Dhatu (five different elemental metals) in different proportions to suit the personality traits of people born under different signs. His studies of ancient texts also revealed that Lord Krishna had asked Arjun to wear a Panch Dhatu bracelet to bring out his best potential to achieve final victory.
Ashit teamed up with his UK educated son Guatam Jauli and cultivated a huge following based on their modern application of the same principal idea found in epic Mahabhrat. In a talk with this correspondent, Ashit explains the relevance of Pancha Dhatus and their practical significance:
What is Panchadhatu?
Nature consists of five elements i.e., water, fire, earth, Air. Similar to that our body also consists of several minerals. Zodiac Power products are made of Panchadhatu i.e., 5 metals Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron and Zinc. Zodiac Power products synchronizes a balance between human life & nature. What is the process of making a ring/armour/pendent/bangle/card?
Each zodiac sign rings are made over a period of 15 days cycle. We refer English calendar or Zodiac Sun sign to set the right melting time, temperature and metal combination then they are polished and beautifully enameled (Menakari).
Why are these rings made according to zodiac sun sings?
Zodiac rings are segregated under the 12 zodiac signs because a person born in a particular month or zodiac sun sign period may have some amount of minerals lacking or excess in his/her body, that’s why the same zodiac signs share similar personality traits or characteristics.
